She smokes throughout just as if she had always have. "She smokes throughout the movie as does practically every character. [smokes] when [Nicholas Cage] comes to visit her in big tuna and as she is questioned by the sheriff while waiting for Willem Dafoe and Nicholas Cage who are robbing the feed store."
