"Whalley gives a world-class performance. She has numerous inhales, snap inhales and exhales. The highlight is a scene where she's smoking while having sex. She's has great back-lighting in the scene and has several nose-mouth combo exhales and talk-exhales in the scene. Zabriskie has a well-filmed inhale and exhale, but she's old and unattractive."
"Omitted from the previous review is a killer scene with Joanne in the back of a station wagon with a young boy nestled against her. She pulls out a pack of 100s and holds them high, before the mother admonishes her for smoking in the car. The child actor, if he's a fetishist today, will no doubt trace it back to that moment."
