| She Done Him Wrong (1933) | Mae West "Mae West has 3 "smoking" scenes: at(0:21) a light-up and two drags, neither of which are true lung inhales as she just blows smoke out of her mouth almost immediately after she drags; (0:37) she takes out a cigarette which she just holds for a few seconds, not a close shot as she was probably 15 ft. from the camera; (0:42) she lights-up by striking her own match but the director cuts away just as soon as the flame reaches the cigarette...a few seconds later she starts to take a drag but the view suddenly shifts so no inhale or exhale is seen...moments later we see her sitting in a chair with cigarette in hand...she talks with someone for a short time, all the while moving her hand with her cigarette quite sexily...this last smoking scene lasts over a minute and for the most part, we she her rather close-up i.e. from the waist up and she is the only one in view. Mae West did not appear to me to be IRL as far as her actual smoking of cigarettes during this movie. But she did look awfully comfortable holding and waving! There is also another actress (unknown) that takes a drag or two within the first five minutes of the movie. This unknown actress only mouth inhales, but she does blow out a decent cloud of smoke. She is filmed sitting down and the shot is from about the knees upwards."
