"I haven't seen the whole film. She smokes in many scenes"
"Hard to say how to rate this one. On the plus side, Verdú is incredibly beautiful, and smokes with relish and masterful IRL skill in many scenes scattered throughout. And her character makes her living by picking up men in the dining cars of overnight trains, giving them drugged champagne, and robbing them, so her manner, clothes, makeup - and smoking style - are all elegant and calculated for seduction. The only frustrating thing is the editing -- countless times the scene fades out or the camera cuts away as she's beginning a drag or getting a light, or back to her just as she's finished an exhale, and it just drives you nuts after awhile. Fortunately, she smokes so much that even with the constant editing screwups, there are more than enough completed drags and visible exhales to make it worthwhile, including one absolutely fantastic lightup and exhale about a half hour in, easily the best of the film. A very good one that could have been an all-time classic if the editor knew what he was doing."
