| Baie des anges, La (1963) | aka Bay of Angels. Jeanne Moreau (holder) "A great one. Moreau plays a chic, Cardin-clad Riviera gambler with peroxide-blonde hair, and she smokes throughout. And I mean she does it all, in true French-actress style. Any cigarette move you can imagine, chances are she does it here -- cheek-collapsing drags, nostril exhales with and without dangling, mouth exhales ditto, talking exhales, dangles that seem to last for minutes on end, and in the piece de resistance, smoke rings blown gently into her lover's face from inches away. Midway through she starts using a foot-long holder, and thereafter shows most of the same moves using that. Oh, and she smokes unfiltered throughout. They don't make movies like this, or smokers like Moreau, any more, so don't miss it."
